Errata: Every part worked in rib (button bands, collar, sleeve cuffs, and bottom of the sweater) should be worked with smaller needles.

Invariance is a top-down cardigan with set-in sleeves. Yarn overs and strategic reverse stockinette work together for interesting embellishment. A single cable stitch maintains the lines of the back detail, and can be worked with a locking stitch marker in lieu of a cable needle. 1” positive ease.

Invariance is the property of remaining unchanged regardless of situation. The cardigan features set in sleeves and is knit top down. There is no waist shaping. Starting at the nape of the neck there is one reverse Stockinette triangle which is almost the whole neckline. The sides of the triangle are outlined by decreases and yarn overs whose lines extend all the way to the sides for a little added interest. Under the crew neckline on the front of the cardigan there are the same triangles but shrunken and stacked with the lines extending only to the midline. There is one cable in the whole sweater. It may be easier to use two locking stitch markers instead of two cable needles.
