A quintessential striped sweater with a bit of fun thrown in, Inverse offers lots of room to experiment with the classic design.
This sweater is worked top-down, completely seamlessly in Contiguous method developed by Susie Myers. Embroidery and asymmetrical hem add a playful touch.
YARN
madelinetosh DK Twist – 100% merino wool; 250 yards (229 meters) per skein
MC: 650(750, 800, 900) yards
CC1: 400(475, 575, 675) yards
CC2: 5-10g (optional – for the stripe and crochet embroidery)
MEASUREMENTS
The sweater is meant to be worn with 0 ease in the chest/hips and a 1” of positive ease in the waist.
The pullover measures:
Bust – 30” (33”, 37”, 40”, 43.6”) or 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)
Waist – 28” (30”, 33”, 36”, 40”)
Hips – 32” (34.4”, 38.4”, 42.4”, 46.8”)
Upper Bicep – 10.5” (10.75”, 11.75”, 12.5”, 13.25”)
Underarm to bottom (short edge) – 17.28” (17.85”, 18.28”, 18.42”, 18.75”)
Sleeve underarm to cuff – 17.5” (17.5”, 18”, 18.5”, 19”)
NEEDLES
US #5/3.75mm - 24”/60cm circular needles
US #6/4.00mm - 24”/60cm circular needles
US #6/4.00mm - 16”/40cm circular needles or DPNs.
TOOLS
Markers, 1 distinctly colored, tapestry needle for embroidery(optional), scrap yarn
GAUGE
20 sts/28 rows per 4” square using US#6/4.00mm needles in Stockinette stitch or size needles to obtain gauge
