This wall hanging combines knitting and weaving techniques for a unique project that looks like macrame, but is actually an easy approachable project for knitters! Named after Iona’s Beach on Lake Superior’s shore in northern Minnesota, the chunky weaving in this pattern reminds me of the pink pebbles at this beach.

Worked flat from the bottom up, you’ll be creating sections of dropped stitches that will serve as “warp strings” later to be filled with woven sections. This project is finished by simply sliding the stitches onto a wooden dowel rod at the end.
