This is a fairly simple hat with Fair Isle striping. It is made with worsted weight wool on size fives to make a very dense and warm fabric.

Update: the white and grey hat that is now the main pattern photo was made with Cascade 220 Superwash. It is a somewhat finer yarn than the regular Cascade 220, and is a good choice if you want a hat that isn’t quite so dense.
