Iquitos Flat i-Cord Scarf
Introducing the Flat i-Cord!
Unlike standard i-cords you can knit Flat i-Cords on straight needles and there’s no sliding the stitches to the other end time after time. Better yet, now you can twist it, twirl it or braid it!
The 9-page pattern has 3 components:
- Complete Flat i-Cord instructions including: standard, wide and double wide Flat i-Cord. Also instructions on how to make a bow and add a button hole or contrasting color stripe.
- Photo tutorials: Pick up and knit a Flat i-Cord from an edge, joining braided Flat i-Cords and picking up stitches if they slide off your needles.
- 3 Patterns: The 5-part braided Iquitos Scarf and Manaus Headband (includes braiding diagram) and simple but pretty Bow Headband.
There is a free tutorial for the basic Flat i-Cord on our web site. You can find it on the Techniques page along with downloads for our other ‘Nuances’ including the Showy Decrease, Double Decker Hat Top, and Resilient Cast On. KnittingNuances.com/Techniques
You can also read more about the pattern on it’s web page at KnittingNuances.com/Designs.
All proceeds from any of our Flat i-Cord patterns go to support our charity, a school for students with learning differences in San Diego County. You can learn more about them here.
