The Irene Scarf is a beginner friendly bias knit scarf, knit in 4 ply/fingering yarn. The scarves are the perfect project to use those single skeins of hand dyed yarn that are lurking in your stash.
The pattern collection includes three versions
- Irene Scarf 1: A one skein project which creates a longer, narrow scarf. The projects uses primarily garter stitch with lace stitch sections created by knitting two together and yarn overs.
-Irene Scarf 2: Another one skein project, this scarf is shorter and wider than the first. Again the scarf is knit on the bias and combines garter stitch, broken rib and lace sections.
- Irene Scarf 3: A two skein project which works best with two different but complimentary skeins of yarn. The scarf begins with one colour, the two skeins are then alternated through the middle section and the scarf is completed with the second colour. A icord type edging helps to create a neat finish to the sides of the scarf. This version is more suited to beginner to intermediate knitters.
