The Irène Socks are knitted cuff down, with a beautiful cable pattern. This pattern is easy to memorize, making them the perfect pair of socks for when you need something simple but not too mindless. The heel chosen for this design uses German short rows, allowing for a beautiful but very simple construction. The cables are fully charted.

This design was named after Irène Joliot-Curie, the eldest daughter of Marie and Pierre Curie, who was responsible for the discovery of the first-ever artificially created radioactive atoms. In fact, it was this exact discovery, induced radioactivity, that awarded her, as well as her husband, the Nobel Prize.

Sizes – 1 (2) 3, which corresponds to foot circumference at the widest part 18 (20) 23 cm*

Some testers found that their socks were slightly too narrow, If you are between sizes, I recommend sizing up.
