Named after the goddess of rainbow, Iris is a simple half-circle shawl that knits in fingering weight yarn in two different colors. The pattern is divided in 4 sections and includes both charted and written instructions.

Size: one size; measurements after blocking: approx. 160 cm/ 63” wide, 68 cm/ 27” long
Gauge: 20 sts and 30 rows = 10cm/ 4” in Stockinette stitch, measured flat after blocking; gauge is not crucial for this project but it will affect the size and the yardage; make sure you have enough yarn to finish your project.
Yarn: approx. 480 m/ 525 yards of fingering yarn in main color and 500 m/ 547 yards of fingering yarn in contrast color that knits to gauge; sample shown was knit with Fleece Artist Merino Slim 100% Merino; 400 meters (437 yards)/115g (4.06 oz) in Slate and Red Fox colorways.
Needles: 4 mm/ US6 circular needles with sharp tips 80cm/ 32” long or needle size to obtain the gauge
Other: tapestry needle to weave in ends, 2 stitch markers, crochet hooks (optional)
