Iris the Cuddly cat is a brilliant beginner amigurami project. The pattern features simple shapes with written instructions for all ability levels to try. Many photos have been added for each step so that they are easy to follow along.

Gauge is not so important for this project. However as an example, for the Cat in the instructions i used Nako Saten yarn which is a sport weight with a 3mm hook. This creates a lovely cuddly size for children, roughly 30cm. You can use any yarn you like, but you may need to adapt your hook size accordingly. Make sure your stitches are small enough so that no stuffing escapes. I used roughly one 100g ball of yarn plus a little extra for the accent colours.
