Irish Tam
This pattern shows how to make the fitted (military) style, and a larger loose style (that hangs lower). The rim is connected as you go, even tho it looks like perfect sewing stitches. It’s a fun hat that crochets up fast.
In the pattern I teach how to ‘fit’ the hat to just about any size. With a little calculation your hat will fit you. You can also just follow the instructions to make an average size.
Aside of the yarn and hooks you’ll also need a stitch marker (I use a bobby pin), small scissors, measuring tape, and yarn needle (to hide ends).
Because this doesn’t use a lot of yarn (not a full skein of either) you might have good colors in your stash. I used Red Heart Super Saver, 4 ply worsted (I can’t figure out Ravelry’s yarn weights), White: 112 yards, and Green: 30 yards. The Pom-pom uses both colors together and I used about 10 more yards. You can also find the link to Shamrock Decal in the pattern.
