*10/11/2020 PLEASE NOTE. a Couple of errors were spotted in the original pattern. An update has been posted to correct the cast on number and also cleans up the written instructions. Please use Version 4 when you download.

This design was born from a special request for a pocket shawl made with bulky yarn, a solid fabric, nothing with “holes”. and in a neutral color with shorter fringe.

The bulky merino wool is super warm, yet not heavy on the shoulders.
After blocking my finished shawl measured 19 inches wide and 63 1/2 inches long without the fringe which measures about 4 inches.
After 44 pattern repeats my shawl measured about 60 inches long and 18 inches wide. Just be aware that some yarns bloom and grow more than others.

The following is a list of other suitable yarns you might consider as Cloudborn Bulky is discontinued and may be difficult to find. Any bulky yarn will work as long as the gauge is similar to Cloudborn Bulky which is 3-3.5 stitches per inch on US 11/8mm needles according to the label.

This pattern is suitable for a beginner knitter. You need to be able to cast on, knit, purl and bind off. This is a great tv watching or car riding project.

Basic crochet skills are needed for the crochet twisted fringe. Written instructions and a video link are provided for this.

Projects made from this pattern may be sold. Give me credit for the design.
