Iron Maiden is a mid-sized crescent shaped shawl inspired by wrought iron work. It rests securely on the shoulders, but also wraps easily around the neck. The delicate, airy quality makes this a great choice as a warm weather accessory or wedding shawl. The design requires one skein of fingering weight/sock yarn. I used Cephalopod, Skinny Bugga, a beloved fingering weight!

The body of the shawl consists of diagonal stripes that change direction as they meet in the middle. The stitch sequences in this design are quite easy to execute and very intuitive. My designs are generally quite simple, yet render complicated looking results.

The pattern provides written instructions (for those who do not use charts), as well as charted instructions (for those who do!). A stitch count table and an enlarged chart are also provided.

Happy Knitting!
Marisa
