A friend recently gave me a box full of old formal dresses and Halloween costumes from their youth to convert to fun dress up clothes for my little girls. When I came across the corset, I knew there was no way I could ever convert it to something I would find appropriate for my little girls to play with. I hate throwing things out that have use, though, so I kept looking at it trying to figure out what it could become. I saw the bucket shape of it, and knew it could become a great knitting bag.

This is a guide to show you how to convert your own corset into a bag. Instead of being a step by step pattern, it is more of a recipe. I wouldn’t suggest it as a beginner’s pattern.

Gauge isn’t important, you just want to have a tight enough gauge that it will hold its shape.
