Is This Windowpane?
I love patterns that make an impact with their sheer simplicity. Here’s an unfussy, unisex crochet shawl, you can make as big or as small as you want it.
(~400yds will give you a small shawl or large shawlette)
The pattern plays well with an understated solid, and is structured enough to carry that crazy variegated unicorn in your stash. But it really shines with a long gradient like e.g. Shirley Brian Yarns or The Blue Brick.
You only need to know Chain stitches, Single Crochet, and Double Crochet for this pattern, and after a few rows you probably won’t even need the pattern anymore.
