Isaac Newton
It is said that Newton thought up his Theory of Universal Gravitation while sitting under an apple tree, and an apple fell upon his head. He supposed that if apples fall to the earth, couldn’t all other things? Couldn’t the moon?
After Newton’s Principia was published it only took 317 years for humans to enter space using his equations and his Calculus.
These mittens are a tribute to Isaac Newton and his works.
Love apples, but not math? This pdf includes a ‘plain’ version without the equations.
The palms feature his three laws of motion.
The thumbs have space for the year and 3 initials.
Size Options:
7.5” around x 9.75” long (including cuff).
The size of the mittens can be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles to get a different gauge.

A tapestry needle
Scrap yarn

7 Page PDF with charts for both mitten designs and written directions.
For those of you who need to brush up on your physics here is a great YouTube video: Michio Kaku: The Universe in a Nutshell
The pattern slightly varies from the model, the thumb gusset now has a seed pattern to keep the floats short.
