Isadora: Free-Form Lace Scarf
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
Isadora Duncan was a woman ahead of her time. She is famous for inventing interpretive or modern dance, for challenging cultural as well as social beliefs, and for wearing long, flowing scarves.
This pattern, named in honor of Ms. Duncan, should encourage knitters to break free of the constraints of charts or specific written directions. Each scarf will be different from every other; the start may be different from the finish. Some scarves will be gossamer webs, some more substantial.
The entire garment is a combination of knit stitches, increases and decreases in a somewhat random order. Play with it!
