Needles: 4.5mm / US 7 circular needle, 100cm / 40” minimum length (Note: The piece is worked flat throughout, but a circular needle is required to accommodate the large number of sts)
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Notions: 4 stitch markers, 7 locking stitch markers, waste yarn and crochet hook for provisional cast-on, tapestry needle
Notes: Iskant is worked flat from the bottom up from a provisional cast-on, with short rows in yarn B along the left edge of the fabric. After the centre panel is complete, a border is worked over the existing stitches, stitches picked up along the right row edge, and stitches picked up from the provisional cast-on. This border is shaped using mitered increases at the corners, and cast off using a stretchy method to allow the fabric to drape.
A final border is picked up in yarn B along the left edge and worked for a few rows in garter stitch. After the piece is complete, it is seamed to create an armhole on the right-hand side, and seamed in the center to create a head opening and add stability to the whole piece.
