Island sleeve
Not many knitters love Sleeve island, but Island sleeve is a whole other story…
A quickly knit lovely accessory to be worn as a bolero, shawl or even scarf. Perfect for vacation knitting, not to mention if you’re on an island.
I used a Suri Alpaca, merino and nylon blend, more or less sport weight. As an alternative, I would suggest silk-mohair held double, or even a soft DK yarn (wool or other).
There are 2 decorative stripes at each cuff, perfect for leftover yarn, preferably something a bit shiny or at least contrasting.
The cuffs are worked in mesh/lace pattern.
Worked in two parts, from cuff to mid-back and then grafted together with Kitchener stitch. Alternatively, the sleeve can be knit continuously, the second half following the instructions backwards.
