Isle of Skye Tartan Cushion
Inspired by a tour of the Scottish Highlands, especially the furnishings and view from a 2 day stay in a cabin next to a loch on the Isle of Skye. This tartan effect cushion is created from horizontal stripes of double crochet with vertical stripes of cross stitch and finished with surface slip stitching. The back is two rectangles of double crochet in one colour, fastened with toggles.
The colours I’ve chosen are the beautiful muted hues of the Scottish Highlands with the red/pink highlights of amazing sunsets.
This cushion is also part of the Isle of Skye Bedroom Collection which also includes a plain cushion with cross stitch charts for a stag head and a Scottish thistle along with a tartan effect bed runner.
