“I ENJOY bringing a modern twist to Fair Isle, and inspiration for this design came from looking at how we define lines and boxes of colour,” says Mary Henderson. “The pattern repeat is based
on a tartan motif with horizontal and vertical lines of colour. My garment has cap sleeves and vented sides. The lower border is knitted in garter stitch stripes, worked separately (longer at the back) and then joined in the round - there are no steeks or sewing up to do.”
