This fun vest is constructed in 3 pieces which are then seamed with a contrasting yarn in a visible stitch, creating a deconstructed look. Collar or optional hood is added after construction.

It “Seams” That Way is perfect for any weather wear. Pair over a long sleeve shirt, short sleeve tee or even a tank. This vest would look adorable paired with jeans, a skirt or cute shorts. Includes instructions for a cropped version as well as a longer version.

Approximately 550 (675, 800, 950, 1100, 1250, 1375) yds of worsted weight yarn – samples use Red Heart with Love in Taupe and Hot Pink
Crochet hook size J-10 (6.0 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge – Furls hooks recommended

SPECIAL STITCHES
Fhdc- foundation half double crochet
Chain 3 (usually counts as your first hdc, but for this
particular pattern this does not count as your first hdc).
Yarn over and insert hook in 3rd chain from hook. Yarn
over and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over and
pull through 1 loop creating a chain, (this is an important
step but easy to forget). Yarn over again and pull through
all three loops on hook. To stitch the next fhdc, yarn over
and insert the hook into the chain made in the 2nd fhdc and repeat from

15 hdc and 12 rows = 5” (12.7 cm)

• Ch 2 does not count as a stitch. First hdc is placed in the first stitch
• Side panels are labeled as worn
• All seams will be made with RS facing out, using contrasting yarn and a whip stitch seam
• Shoulder seams are done first, and then per pattern directions, you will sc around the
entire border of all panels before seaming.
