A asymmetric shawl, knitted by first knitting the border in optional length, the sample has 18 big holes, then pick up stitches from border, number of stitches is not important.
Then the body is knitted with short rows on left side of shawl and by making 1 stitch increasing every wrong side row. A 3 stitch edging on right edging of shawl, knitted as you go, which I recommend knit very loose, gives a nice finish edging touch. Optional big holes on the upper tip of body.
If I were to knit a new sample, I would have considered making the W&T 1 or even 2 stitches earlier which would have given a smaller body on the shawl. So instead of “ RS: k1,sl1yf,k1, knit to 2 stitches before W&T stitch on previous row, W&T”, I would probably tried “knit to 3 or even 4 stitches before W&T on previous row”.
So you can keep that in mind if you want a smaller body than on my sample.
I do hope the name of the pattern does not scare you from knitting the shawl, the name came up as a playing with the words “It takes two to tango” so I thought it was a fun re-writing when I used 4 strands at the same time on the border.
The gauge in the shawl is not important. The sample is knitted in a fingering weight yarn, with a gouge 24 sts , needle US 4 - 3,5mm gives 10 cm/4”.
Yarn; fingering, usage color A; 460 meters / 503 yards, color B; 330 meter / 360 yards.
Measurements; upper edge; 2,15cm/86”, Right edge; 127cm/50”, border; 110cm/43.5”,drop; 55cm/50”.
Hope you will enjoy your new shawl and please let me know if you knit it, I would love to use your picture on pattern page
