The “Suveritani” are practicing their folk dancing. They are just about to start a fast Calabrian Tarantella!
Based on the local folk group costume my daughter wore, it can easily be adapted to use motives from other towns or countries. Many folk costumes are a similar style.
Fingering weight yarn. 20 wpi. I used acrylic yarn for this.
100g main colour, 100g white, less than 50g contrast colour. (about 30g)
1m narrow ribbon or use yarn to make a twisted cord.

It is mainly knit in the round. The white shift is knit in the round, topdown from the lace edging. Sleeves are seamless. The skirt is knit bottomup. There is the hem to sew on the inside of skirt.
Simple stranded knitting. Clear charts are included.
Simple knit on lace at wrists and hem of shift
The waistcoat can be finished with a knit or crochet edging in contrast colour.
The pattern has been testknit but if you do have any problems feel free to contact me and I will try to help.
