THE ITALIAN PASSEGGIATA SWEATER is a really easy pattern for beginners or more experienced knitters.

Overview:
We will knit the BACK, the FRONT and the 2 SLEEVES separately (bottom up, back and forth in rows)
We will sew the right shoulder and then pick up the stitches on the entire profile of the neckline to knit the neckband.
We will sew the other parts.

Width (from shoulder to shoulder): (50) 52 (54, 57, 59) cm / (19.7) 20.5 (21.1, 22.4, 23.2) in
Length (at centre back): (58) 61 (65, 68, 71) cm / (22.8) 24 (25.4, 26.8, 28.0) in
Sleeves length (at shoulder seam): (49) 49 (50, 50, 51) cm / (19.3) 19.3 (19.5, 19.7, 20.1) in

Note: pick a finished size that offers 8-10 cm / 3.1-3.9 in of positive ease

Yarn requirements:
(748) 795 (857 - 916 - 983) mt / (818) 869 (938 - 1.001 - 1.076) yds of DK weight yarn.

Suggested Yarn:
(227) 241 (260, 278, 298) gr of ALPACOTTON (www.bettaknit.com), or other DK weight yarn with the same features.

Needles:
mm 5 (US 8) for body or needle size to obtain gauge.
mm 4 (US 6) for ribbing
1 Auxiliary needle
1 Tapestry needle

Gauge:
4”X4’’ - 10x10 cm in Stockinette Stitch with 5 mm (US 8) needles worked back and forth: 18 stitches x 21 rows.

• First, read the whole text. On the last page you will find the reference measurements for the various sizes. Choose yours, considering that the sweater has a fairly soft fit. Isolate instructions in text, underlining them or highlighting them with a different color.

• It is always important to make a small gauge swatch with the yarn you have chosen. Check that, with the same number of stitches and rows, your gauge matches ours. If not, try to increase or decrease the tension while working or, even, to change the needles size. In any case, being a handmade product, it is normal that small differences may be between our sample and your finished garment. Always give space and confidence to your creativity!
