I made this sweater for my big guy because you could buy
sweaters but they didn’t fit properly. There were no knitting patterns
out at the time to fit our big pets. I will be adding at the end
of each section the way I made the sweater. I have been told it is too much and others wanted the extra information. Making the best fitting sweater for your fur baby is what I am working for.
Chest Sizes: 10-14”(16-21)“
This sweater was designed for the toy group
but is easily adapted to fit most any pet you love.
Materials: Fingering weight yarn (all fibers will work for this
sweater just be sure to hand wash if you use wool or animal
fiber). Estimated yardage 200-250 yards (50 grams). I always purchase extra due to individual knitting style.
Circular needles in 16” size US 2 (2.75 mm) and US 3 (3.25 mm).
Dp needles in US 2 (2.75 mm), stitch markers, scrap yarn, tapestry needle for working in ends.
Gauge: using the largest needles stst should be 27sts x 38 rows=
4x4” (10 x 10)cm Adjust needle as needed to get gauge
