This rectangular lace scarf is worked from a simple lace pattern with hints for making it easier. An advanced beginner should be okay with it.

This scarf is made from locally spun worsted weight alpaca. In case you don’t have that available in your area, I suggest a non-fuzzy, non-tweedy yarn so the lace holes aren’t hidden. You could even use a dk weight and go down in needle size for a more delicate scarf.

To make it a lovely summer evening shawl, increase the repeats across until it is your desired width. If you increase the repeats, use multiples of 6 for your cast on.
