14 sts/26 rows = 4” over charted pattern after blocking; gauge is not crucial for this pattern but may affect yardage requirements.

PATTERN NOTES
Worked from the top down with a tab construction this shawl has 3 sections, a center triangle flanked by side or wing triangles. When the main body is complete the double knit edging is continued for a length to pickup the border stitches from. The border is worked as a knit on border attached to the live main body stitches on every RS row, and bound of with an attached double knit edging.

This pattern uses a double knit edging around the shawl. It is essential that the stitches for this are slipped loosely so that the shawl can be blocked properly. If you are unable to slip the stitches loosely, work the 3 edge stitches in stockinette; they will curl over during blocking and appear as an i-cord, but will be more stretchy.
