Ivy Shawl
This is an intermediate shawl pattern
This pattern uses a combination of textures to create a beautiful, drapey shawl. It is worked using two different colors of sport weight yarn (although would look beautiful in one color). It can be altered to be worked in other weights of yarn, however it will alter the size of the finished shawl.
Stitches you’ll want to know:
p - purl
pm - place marker
sm - slip marker
yo- yarn over
c4f - cable 4 forward
c4b - cable 4 backward
sl1-k2tog - slip one, knit two together
psso - pass slipped stitch over knit stitch
mb - make bobble
Materials Needed:
- Approximately 328 yards of Sport Weight yarn in two colors or 650 yards total.
- US size 8 (5.00 mm) knitting needles. I recommend 32”-40” circulars, as you will be increasing as you work.
- 2 stitch markers
- Cable needle
- Darning needle
This pattern is worked top-down and grows by 4 stitches every other row, with increases at either end and in the center before a small cabled center.
The center cable stitches are worked the same throughout the entire shawl.
This pattern includes written instructions as well as charted instructions for the lace section.
