Named for a plant with vividly colored flowers, Ixia is a relaxed short-sleeved tee with just a touch of pretty lace. Worked in a versatile light cotton yarn, this tee is perfect for spring and summer since it can be worn on its own or layered under a light cardigan or shawl.

Ixia is worked in smooth stockinette from the top down with simple raglan shaping, which allows for easy customization of the sleeve and body length, while a touch of waist shaping gives the tee a flattering fit. The floral lace motifs use only basic stitches, making this project suitable even for a novice lace knitter.

October 17, 2018 pattern correction: The type of increase used for the neckline (just past the ribbing) should be the ‘make 1’ (twisted strand increase) instead of the ‘make 1 below’ increases. This does not change the raglan increases, which remain ‘make 1 below’. The ‘make 1’ description was added to the ‘pattern stitches’ section. Everything else remains unchanged.
