Knitting pattern for Iza socks
Iza socks are nothing short of small masterpieces for your feet. These socks are characterized by their enchanting cable patterns that adorn the entire shaft and continue in ribbing down over the heel, ensuring a snug fit around the heel. You have the option to customize the look, either by knitting two identical socks or letting the cables twist in opposite directions.
We have knitted the sock using our soft and durable Önling No 18, which is made from 75% non-superwash wool and 25% recycled PET (plastic) bottles
Sizes:
Small (EU 36-37 / US 5-6.5)
Medium (EU 38-39 / US 7-8)
Large (EU 40-42 / US 8.5-10.5)
Sizes can be adjusted by knitting according to the stitch count for size small if you have narrow feet and knit them to the desired length, and vice versa, knit according to the stitch count for size L if you have wide feet.
Materials:
50(75)75 g Önling No 18, 4-ply sock wool, 75% non-superwashed wool and 25% polyester from recycled PET bottles, 420 m pr 100g.
Recommended needles: You need double-pointed needles or a circular needle size 2,5 mm / US 1.5 in 6
Gauge: 32 sts x 47 rows on needle 2,5 mm (US 1.5) = 10 x 10 cm
Procedure:
Iza socks are knitted from the cuff with delicate cable patterns on the shaft and ribbing on the heel. The foot is knitted in stockinette stitch and finishes with a rounded toe. The sock is knitted using the magic loop method on circular needles, but of course, you can use doublepointed needles if you prefer. A sock with a gusset heel consists of: cuff, heel flap, heel turn, gusset, foot, and toe.
