Fingerless mitts knit in the round or back and forth, and made from the top down - that is from the cuff/arm downwards towards the fingers, placing stitches for thumb on hold, which are picked up and knit at the end.
Seamless if knitted in the round, or with an easy seam sewn together if you like to knit back and forth.

Pattern holds two strands together - 1 sport weight and 1 fingering.
More info in the pattern.
If you are a loose knitter I suggest using 3.5 or 3.75 mm but if you are a tight knitter use 4 or 4.5 mm. Tension/gauge is important as they are meant to be fitted.
