Designing an intarsia shawl has been on my mind for a while. I’m not sure how this happens, but when I travel, I typically run out of projects to knit, so I have to design first. Still, I wanted to work on this shawl while we were visiting my parents. I packed the yarn into my suitcase and a few hours after we arrived, I asked my mum for a piece of graph paper and drew the chart for the pattern you see on the body of the shawl. Things don’t always go this smoothly but I love it when they do. Actually, I kind of designed this whole shawl in a flow, everything just clicked into place. Even when I had to juggle three balls at a time. (You don’t necessarily have to do this for your project, using just one color or a gradient are valid options as well)
