Jacket with Eyelet Tucks
While an oxymoron to suggest that eyelets may constitute a tuck, this little hand knit jacket sports eyelets arranged in a manner to suggest pintucks over the front yokes and sleeve caps. Together with a flity peplum and a stable double-knit collar, we have a simple jacket with just enough femininity to keep it interesting.
The key to the tailored fit is a perfect shoulder width. Measurements are included throughout the detailed instructions in order to allow for custom fitting each aspect of this knit cardigan. Neatly constructed buttonholes on the Right Front are repeated on the Right Front Facing, and crisp turn rows are created for all hems and facings along the front, bottom, and cuff edges. Both Fronts and the Back are knit together in one piece up to the armholes.
The double-knit collar on this peplum sweater provides its own support. It does not flop about or splay flat against the shoulders. It stands on its own as it should. Instructions are provided for making the double-knitting very easy. It has an immaculate finish along both inside and outside neck edge.
Knit gauge in Stockinette Stitch is 5 stitches and 7 rows per inch on Size 7 US needles. This produces a fairly standard worsted gauge.
