En 1727, la familia real que reinó en la región del Rajastán (India) fundó Jaipur, que hoy se conoce como la ciudad rosa por el color del estuco que recubre los edificios, y que equivale al color de la suerte en esta región de India. El Chal Jaipur está inspirado en el Palacio de los Vientos, emulando el diseño de su fachada y la delicadeza de la misma en sus detalles. Con él te quiero llevar de viaje a la Ciudad Rosa de la India, Jaipur, y más concretamente al Palacio de los Vientos o Hawa Mahal que, según los expertos, tiene forma de cola de pavo real, de ahí que el chal sea semicircular o de medio pi.

El chal se inicia por el centro con un montaje de lengüeta y se va aumentando de forma progresiva hasta conseguir el resultado final.
Las dimensiones del chal Jaipur tras el bloqueo son aproximadamente 170 cm de largo por 63’5 cm de ancho. En este caso, y debido a la forma del chal, el bloqueo es bastante agresivo.
Para tejerlo, necesitarás una madeja de lana grosor fingering (420 m en 100 gr) y una madeja de mohair (420 m en 50 gr), o bien dos madejas de lana grosor fingering, de distinto color.
Yo he utilizado lanas de colosco wool & fibers:
- Color A: 99 gr del color chopo zentenario en calidad bovín (70% superwash merino, 20% yak y 10% nylon).
- Color B: 27 gr del color mengrana en calidad momo (72% kid mohair y 28% seda). Si utilizas una lana de contraste de grosor fingering, necesitarás aproximadamente 60 gr.

On 1727, the Royal family who reigned in the region of Rajastán (India) founded Jaipur, which today is known as “the pink city” because of the color of its buildings. That color is a lucky color at this region in India. Among the historical buildings, stands out the Hawa Mahal or “Palace of the winds”, which principal purpose was to allow the women of the Royal family to admire de daily life on the streets of the city without being seen, through its 953 windows .
