Jakob’s Gansey (sweater) is knitted from the top down. It features a slip rib collar folded double, cabled sleeves and cable details on the body, and cable rib cuffs and body rib. It is knitted in the round and is seamless. The jumper is blocked to make the back slightly longer than the front for extra comfort.

This jumper is knitted in double knit weight. The design is a loose, casual fit for an average to large sized adult male.

Yarn
600g DK Deergrass Heath

Tension
22 sts and 29 rounds stockinette stitch (after blocking) = 10 x 10 cm.
It is always wise to do a swatch to establish your tension; adjust your needle size accordingly.

Size after blocking
chest: ca 122cm circumference
length: ca 64cm from top of front collar to bottom of front rib
arms: ca 53cm from underarm to end of cuff

Size can be adjusted by using larger or smaller needles; alternatively by using a lighter or heavier weight yarn, such as jumper weight (lighter weight) or aran (heavier). If you choose a different weight of yarn you will also have to adjust the needle sizes and amount of yarn.
