James Brown's Gansey
by Judy Furlong
This gansey is a copy of the one made by a lady from the Moray coast, north east Scotland, for her fisherman son who was tragically lost at sea while he was still a young man. It is to him and to the many other fishermen who have given their lives, that this pattern and the article “Fisherman’s Friend”, which originally accompanied it, are dedicated.
