Jamesina
Jamesina, named after my grandmother, is a vintage styled slouch hat. The hatband is knit straight & seamed. Stitches are picked up from the edge of the band and knit in the round to form the slouchy body of the hat. Finished with a crochet flower and vintage button, Jamesina is reminiscent of days gone by whilst remaining fashionable today.
Fits average size woman. Approximate head circumference 21” (54cm) relaxed, approximate height 8¼” (21cm).
Rosebud hatband stitch pattern: 1 pattern repeat (12 rows) measures 1¾ inches (4.5cm) using US#6 (4mm) needles or needle size required to obtain gauge, width varies due to stitch pattern used.
Jamesina requires approx 180 yards (165m) worsted weight yarn. Select a yarn that has some drape such as soft wool, bamboo/wool blend etc.
