This felted purse is great for a first time felting project. After knitting the bottom in garter stitch, the majority of the purse is knit in the round. Has an I-Cord strap. The pattern includes I-cord instructions. Also has instructions to add an outside pocket and pocket flap before felting.

If you enjoy needle felting this purse design is wonderful because the flap does not cover the front of the purse. It gives you plenty of room for your unique design. I have added some photos to show needle felting, this pattern does not teach needle felting.

This design can be knit with any worsted wool or wool blend yarn that will felt.

Measurements before felting:
Circumference / 33 inches
Height with flap folded down / 19 inches

Average Measurements after felting:
Circumference / 22 1/2 inches
Height with flap folded down / 11 inches
Outside Pocket / 5 3/4 inches high by 7 1/2 inches wide
Outside Pocket Flap Length / 4 1/4 inches
After felting measurements vary because of differences in individual felting processes.

Approximately 575 yards without the pocket and flap
Additional 125 yards for large pocket and flap
• 1 ½” – 2” button(s)
• Stitch markers
• Darning needle

Needles Used:
• US10 (6mm) double point
• US10 (6mm) circular 32”

Gauge:
• 2 inches = 16 sts / 11 rows, in stockinette, before felting
