The Pattern
We know not everyone likes reading charts so we also offer the written instructions. You will be prompted through the pattern of where to go for the pattern type you would prefer.
If you do find any issues with this pattern please contact us at admin@jamo.store
One thing to note, shadow knits look fantastic when you are looking at them, but very hard to take a good picture of them, hence why there are limited pictures of my designs. As we say seeing is believing.

The Design
This is the first design from my plans to do animal portraits, Where better to start than with the king of them all.
I created the knit with 8ply yarn, the finished measurements of the piece being 71cm (width) x 85 cm (high), this will be dependant on your tension.

Techniques
This pattern involves knit and purl (plain, flat knitting what ever you want to call it) ….. Yes that’s it, apart from cast on and cast off of course.
You will be working with two colours, you knit with one colour for two rows, then the other colour for two and repeat. I do nothing special when I change over the yarns, I am just consistent.

Yarn
I use 8ply (DK) when knitting these patterns. But the choice is yours, obviously gauge of yarn will alter the finished size, as long as the two colours are the same gauge. Also you can use what ever you want, acrylic, wool, blend or cotton. It depends on what you want to use the final product for.
In 8 ply I used the following, as a gauge, but it will depend a lot on your tension as to how much you will use.
Colour A - 150g (345m) approximately
Colour B - 150g (345m) approximately

Materials
1) Knitting needles!!!!
Yes that is it again, apart from some scissors. I used a circular knitting needle so you do not have to support the weight when your project gets bigger
