Well you viewing my Tiger Shadow knitting pattern. This was the first shadow knit pattern that I designed and it will always be special to me. I have to admit it looks fantastic on the wall, but also great as a bed throw. This is a 33 page pattern…. yes you read right. Due it its size the chart is divided over 18 pages and the written instructions are quite sizable as well, we do not like to reduce our text too much or you will not be able to read it!!!!

Our Patterns

With our shadow knitting patterns we hope to think we are quite unique. We supply a chart for those knitting chart lovers…. sorry folks this has 18 charts, three charts are needed to follow one row so you can read them. We also though include written instructions, yes line by line detail so for those that do not like charts can also enjoy.

We hope you enjoy our pattern. Please contact us if you have any improvements that you would like to suggest and of course if you spot an error! We try and keep them as simple as possible.

Techniques

This pattern involves knit and purl. Yep that’s its (apart from cast on and cost off of course).

Yarn

You can basically use what yarn you like. As long as there is a good contrast in colour and they are the same gauge. For my project I used DK (8ply) yarn. I used under 4 balls of each colour, which were 100g. This equates to 1080m of each colour. Remember though tension can make a big difference on a large project like this so this is just a guide.

Materials

Knitting needles recommended for the wool you use. For DK (8ply) I used 4mm needles. I used long circular needles (even though knitting flat) so did not have to support the weight when the project got larger. That’s about all you need, apart from your scissors and usual accessories.
