This sampler throw is intended to be a teaching tool for teaching new knitters how to knit. The pattern, however, does not include instructions on how to perform the techniques, but is intended to be more of a “Learn to Knit” curriculum. There are 6 pattern squares in this sampler: Garter, Stockinette, Basketweave, Woven Stitch, Chevron eyelet and Simple Cable. Each square is knit 4 times (practice makes perfect) with an additional “choice” square for a total of 25 squares.

The skills in this sampler include knitting, purling, knitting and purling on same row, slip stitches, yarn over, ssk, k2tog and a simple right leaning 3/3 cable (cuz cables aren’t that hard).

The picture in the pattern uses 5 colors of a readily available worsted weight yarn, but this can be knit up in any color combinations the user chooses.
