January leaves for children
Of course, we are still in the month of December.
But soon we will be entering the month of January, and a New Year!
This child sweater is a version of my tested adult sweater-pattern, January Leaves:

Design and construction.
The sweater is worked bottom-up in a seamless construction. The fit of the sweater is basic and straight-forward, with raglan-decreases and a crew-neck. A perfect sweater for outdoors and play. The front and sleeves are embellished with leaf-pattern motifs.
Sizes
There are 6 sizes to choose from: 18 months / 2 - 4 years/ 4-6years/ 6-8 years/ 8 - 10 years/10 - 12 years.
Finished chest-circumference: 55/58/62/66/71.5/77 cm = 21.5/23/24.5/26/28/30.5”.
Materials
Yarn: I recommend a worsted weight yarn with great stitch-definition that knits up to gauge. I used Lark from Quince & co., in the colourway Frost, to work my sweater. This worsted weight yarn comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76 oz, and 123 m/134 yards.
Of this specific yarn you will need approx. 350/400/470/570/670/800 m = 382/436/512/621/730/872 yards.
Needles: size 3.5 mm/US4 for the ribbed hem/cuffs/neckline,
size 4 mm/US6 for the main-body and sleeves.
Gauge
21 sts and 28 - 30 rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.
The pattern
The lace-pattern of the body and sleeves are charted, as well as written out round-by-round.
All measurements are in cm’s as well as in inches.
All necessary stitch-counts are given.
There is a schematic.
Knitting skills: intermediate. I believe that an adventurous beginner would be able to work this sweater.
Techniques involved:
Working simple lace from charts and/or written instructions.
Cast-on, bind-off, picking up sts.
Underarms are grafted together, or bound-off using the 3-needle bind-off method.
