January Mitten
The January Mitten cuff is worked as a folded hem with picot edge. The hem is “sewn” to the inside using the sew-as-you-go method.
The chart uses the MC and CC as pictured. We have also included a chart using a + symbol in place of the MC. If your colors differ, you may elect to color in the alternate chart with the colors you are using.
YARN:
The Fibre Co. Cumbria Fingering (60% merino wool, 30% masham wool, 10% mohair; 328 yds/100g skein): Windermere (MC), Scafell Pike (CC), 1 skein each.
GAUGE:
28 sts + 32 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in colorwork pattern on larger needles, after blocking.
NEEDLES:
1 – set US 1 (2.25 mm) dpns.
1 – set US 2 (2.75 mm) dpns.
NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, stitch marker, stitch holder or waste yarn.
SIZE:
11.25” (28.5 cm) total length, 8” (20.25 cm) circumference.
