Only one skein of Patons Classic Wool is needed to complete both mittens. The featured color for this pattern is Blue Fog.

Each January Mitten is worked from the bottom up, by at first working in rows, which will then be folded and seamed to create a cuff. You’ll then continue to build your mitten by working in the round. Once a thumbhole is made, you’ll complete the thumb before returning to the hand to complete your mitten.

Right and left mitten patterns are worked exactly the same.

Yarn note: I chose Patons Classic Wool because of it’s strength and warmth, but I’ve also made several pair using Lion Brand Wool-Ease.
