A beautiful Japanese stitch pattern inspired me to create this cowl. It reminded me of how beautiful leaves are throughout the year with their ever changing colours. The looped cowl cycles through the different colors
just like the cycle of seasons throughout nature.
Don’t be intimidated by the complex look of the pattern, it is rather easy to knit. No cabling required, these are mock cables, made by passing a stitch over another. That makes it a quick knit.

Size:
20 cm [8”] wide, 130 cm [51”] around
Length is easily adjustable

Blocked Gauge:
1 pattern repeat (30-33 sts and 8 rows) is 16.5
cm [6.5”] wide and 3.5 cm [1.4”] high

Materials:
Caron Cakes (350 m [383 yd], 200 g [7.05
oz], 80 % acrylic, 20 % wool), 1 ball in #17004 Cherry Chip
or 240 m [265 yd] Aran yarn of your choice
4 mm [US 6] straight or 40 cm circular needles, or a size that gives you a fabric you like
2 stitch markers

Notes:
Gauge is not vital for this project, but it affects
the size of the FO and the yardage you need

The cowl is worked as a scarf and then seamed. For a longer or shorter cowl, work to desired length ending with row 8.

Designer Notes:
I’m a loose knitter, so you may want to try bigger needles if you aren’t

Ein wunderschönes, japanisches Muster hat mich zu diesem Cowl inspiriert.
Es erinnert mich daran, wie schön Blätter im Laufe des Jahres in ihren wechselnden Farben sind. Der Rundschal durchläuft verschiedene Farben genau wie der Lauf der Jahreszeiten in der Natur.
Lass Dich vom komplizierten Aussehen des Musters nicht einschüchtern, es ist einfach zu stricken. Die falschen Zöpfe entstehen durch übergezogene Maschen, so dass der Cowl schnell zu stricken ist.

Maschenprobe nach dem Spannen:
1 Mustersatz (30-33 M und 8 Reihen) ist 16.5 cm breit und 3.5 cm hoch

Anmerkungen:
Die Maschenprobe ist nicht entscheidend für das Gelingen, beeinflusst aber die Grösse des fertigen Strickstücks und den Garnverbrauch
Der Cowl wird als Schal gearbeitet und dann zusammengenäht. Für einen längeren oder kürzeren Cowl, bis zur gewünschten Länge arbeiten und mit Reihe 8 enden.

Anmerkungen der Designerin:
Ich stricke eher locker, eventuell werden dickere Nadeln benötigt
