The coasters are a little bit larger than your regular ones, ensuring a flower explosion on your table! The Jasmine Stitch texture make the coasters stand out. No one you know will have anything like these! The coasters decorations are perfect gifts for friends, mothers, aunts, daughters, grandmothers, colleagues or neighbors - everyone will love them!

Once you have gotten the hang of the Jasmine stitch, the coasters are quick makes.

Experience level required:
The project is intended for expert crocheters (intermediate +) or intermediate level crocheters with jasmine stitch experience. Of course, adventurous crocheters at all levels are free to have a go – be kind to yourself if you do ❤️ This IS a rather complex project.

Measurements:
11cm (4.3”) measured diagonally from corner to corner + scalloped edge. This is not an exact measurement. The coaster size depends on the yarn you choose, how long the loops are pulled when working the jasmine stitch, and the hook size.

Suggested yarn:
Many types of yarn can work well for these coasters – it is a great project for putting some of that stash yarn to good use.

I suggest working with two strands of yarn held together, one fingering wool yarn and one mohair lace/2ply yarn. The mohair thread adds a little bit of fuzz to your work. This is not necessary but gives a gorgeous effect. It also filles in nicely between the loops of the petals and makes it easier to achieve an even look.

Suggested combinations: Knitting for Olive Cotton Merino, Knitting for Olive Merino, Sandnes Sunday, or Filcolana Arwetta (all 235 meters/50 grams (257 yards/1.8 oz)) held together with Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair, Rauma Plum, or Sandnes Tynn Silk Mohair (all 212 meters/25 grams (232 yards/0.9oz).

Note that other types of yarn can work well, too - feel free to experiment with yarn from your stash and find YOUR favorite. Keep in mind that thick yarn will make bulky coasters where your glasses/mugs will not be stable.

Amount needed if you hit gauge: with one skein of each type, you can make 6 coasters.

You also need:
3mm hook, scissors, tape measure, yarn needle, and stitch markers/safety pins.
