CROCHET EASTER EGG - worked with the Jasmine Stitch - PDF PATTERN

English (US) and Norwegian instructions included in each purchase.
Decorate your home with gorgeous Jasmine Stitch Eggs! This PDF crochet pattern includes everything you need to know to make your own gorgeous eggs.

The Jasmine Stitch texture make these decorations stand out. No one you know will have anything like these!

The eggs are perfect Easter gifts for friends, mothers, aunts, daughters, grandmothers, colleagues or neighbours - everyone will love them! They are also great as gift tags, for garlands, for key chains, and as Easter basket stuffers.

The eggs require very little yarn - a perfect way to put those yarn leftovers to good use! You use less than 20 meters for one egg.
Once you have gotten the hang of the Jasmine stitch, the eggs are quick makes. You can make many - for you and your fam/friends, or to sell at markets or as gifts!

The pattern includes a detailed, photo tutorial taking you through the jasmine stitches, step by step.

Experience level required: This project is meant for expert crocheters, or intermediate-level crocheters with jasmine stitch experience. Of course, adventurous crocheters at all levels are
free to have go – be kind to yourself if your do ❤ This IS a rather complex project.

Measurements
You can make the egg in different sizes, by varying the yarn you are using and the length you pull the loops up to when working the Jasmine Stitch. If you use Drops Merino extra fine and pull the loops up to 1cm (0.39”), the height of the egg will be approx. 5.5cm (2.17”) and the width approx. 4.5cm (1.77”). These are not exact measurements. The size of the egg will vary greatly depending on yarn choice and how long you pull the loops when crocheting.

Yarn suggestions:
I suggest using left over yarn form your stash. You need less than 20 meters for one egg. You can use Merino Extra Fine from Drops Design (Length/weight: 105 meters / 50 grams (115 yards / 1.8oz)), or other DK/8 ply yarn.

However, you do not need to use this exact yarn. Lots of different types of yarn will work well for this project. Try out yarn from your stash and find your favorite! If you work with thinner yarn than the one suggested above, pull the loops a little bit shorter (your egg will become a little bit smaller). If you work with thicker yarn, pull the loops a little bit longer (your egg will become a little bit larger). Make a gauge swatch to ensure that you get the look you are going for!

Note that I recommend “compressable” yarn. With that I mean yarn that is kind of thick, but but goes nice and flat when pressed between your fingers. You need compressable yarn to get
full petals while keeping the flower centers small.

Gauge: When crocheting the Jasmine Stitches, pull the loops to about 1cm (0.39”) (or the length that works with your yarn). The length of the loops decides the gauge – not the hook size you are using.

Hook size: 2.5mm. Use a hook significantly smaller than what you would normally use for your yarn. This is to make sure the flower centers remain small.

You also need: Scissors, tape measure, yarn needle, and a stitch marker.

If this is your first time working the Jasmine Stitch, making these eggs will be easier (and less frustrating. And more enjoyable) if you learn the stitch back and forth first (or in the round without increases). I therefore recommend first-timers to try out one of these designs before crocheting the eggs:
