English (US terms) and Norwegian instructions included in each purchase.
Decorate your home with gorgeous Jasmine Stitch Stars this season! This PDF crochet pattern includes everything you need to know to make your own Crochet Christmas Ornaments!
The Jasmine Stitch texture make these decorations stand out. No one you know will have anything like these! These xmas decorations are perfect gifts for friends, mothers, aunts, daughters, grandmothers, colleagues or neighbours - everyone will love them!
Once you have gotten the hang of the Jasmine stitch, the stars are quick makes. You can make many - for you own tree, to sell at markets or as gifts
The pattern includes a detailed, photo tutorial taking you through the jasmine stitches, step by step.
Experience level required:
The project is meant for expert crocheters (intermediate +) or intermediate level crocheters with jasmine stitch experience. Of course, adventurous crocheters at all levels are free to have a go – be kind to yourself if you do ❤️ This IS a rather complex project.
Measurements:
Diameter approx. 7.5cm (2.95”). This is not an exact measurement. The star size depends on the yarn you choose, how long the loops are pulled when working the jasmine stitch, and the hook size.
Yarn suggestions:
Metallico by Hobbii (115m/50gr / 125yds/1.75oz) or other, similar yarn types, can be used. Metallico has a little bit of fluff and a blown structure that builds well. This makes getting even looking stitches easier.
Note that lots of different types of yarn will work well for this project. If working with thinner yarn than suggested, pull the loops a little bit shorter (the star will become slightly smaller). If working with thicker yarn, pull the loops a little bit longer (the star will become slightly larger).
I recommend “compressible” yarn. By that I mean yarn that looks kind of thick but becomes nice and flat when pressed between your fingers. You need compressible yarn to get full petals while keeping the flower centers small. Getting beautiful petals when working with less compressible yarn (like many types of ”regular” 100% cotton yarn), can be difficult. I suggest trying out wool.
Hook size:
3mm. Use a hook significantly smaller than the one suggested for the yarn you are using. This is to make sure the flower centers remain small.
You also need:
Scissors, tape measure, yarn needle, and stitch markers/safety pins. You also need something to hang the star with – a piece of leather strand or thin thread works well.
NEW to the jasmine stitch?
Making these stars without jasmine stitch experience can be challenging! If you do not know the jasmine stitch, I recommend you learn the stitch with one of the designs below before crocheting the stars.
Making the stars will be MUCH easier if you learn the stitch with one of these projects first!
