Jawbreaker
Jawbreaker is a striped sweater designed to use all of those beloved remnants of fingering weight yarn alternated with a consistent colorway to make a cohesive palette. Each one will be unique. It is knit from the top down and uses a simple helical technique to seamlessly alternate colors.
Sizes 1(2 ,3, 4, 5)6, 7, 8, 9{10, 11, 12, 13}(14, 15, 16, 17)
To fit chest circumference 30 (32, 34, 36, 38)40, 42, 44, 46{48, 50, 52, 54}(56, 58, 60, 62) inches with approx. 8” of positive ease.
Yarn
Sizes 1-7: Approx. 150g fingering weight remnants & 2 skeins of Barker Wool Fern in a tonal colorway.
Sizes 8-13: Approx. 200g fingering weight remnants & 2 skeins of Barker Wool Fern in a tonal colorway.
Sizes 14-17: Approx. 275g fingering weight remnants & 3 skeins of Barker Wool Fern in a tonal colorway.
Needles For neck ribbing: 16” circular needle: 3.55 mm (US 4) – or two sizes smaller than gauge needle. For yoke, body, and sleeves: 16” & 24” circular needle: 4.0 mm (US 6) – or size needed to obtain correct gauge, plus US size 4 (3.5 mm) double-pointed needles for sleeve cuffs.
Gauge: 23 STS x 35 rounds = 4” x 4” in Stockinette ST after blocking using larger needles
24 STS x 36 rounds = 4” x 4” in 2 x 2 rib after blocking using smaller needles.
