The idea began as a crochet version of jazzknitting by Ilisha Helfman and has taken on a life of its own.
This is a favorite project in the VIA Rail hands-on activity program and can be completed in a few days of travel. The end result is a small unique cowl. Even if several people begin with the same yarn, no two cowls will be alike.
One 50 gram ball of sock yarn will make a small adult cowl. Look for yarns with longer colour changes 6 inches or more apart such as Caron Simply Soft Stripes, James C Brett Party-Time Chunky, Lang Jawoll Magic, Noro sock yarn.
